THEY WERE dancing at the crossroads in Wexford last night as the O’Duffy Cup was brought back to the county for the third year in a row.

The victorious Wexford All-Ireland camogie team, fresh from their win against Cork in Croke Park on Sunday, were given a rapturous welcome home with three special receptions.

The first celebration was in Gorey, where the Gorey Pipe Band led the open-top double-decker bus up to Gorey Civic Square.

One of the loudest cheers of the evening was for Oulart the Ballagh’s Ursula Jacob, who contributed 2-7 to the 3-13 Wexford scoreline.

Team manager JJ Doyle said it was brilliant to see so many people supporting them.

“When we stood here in 2010, we never dreamed we’d be back in 2011, never mind 2012,” he said.

The convoy of supporters accompanied the team to Enniscorthy for another reception. Then it was on to Wexford where they were warmly received on the Wexford quay front.
