The Dunnes Stores branches in Blanchardstown, Donaghmede, Kilnamanagh, and Terryland, Galway, will be open all through the night tonight.

Dunnes branches staying open until 2 a.m. include Ballyvolane, Douglas and Tralee (NCR).

Stores remaining open until midnight tonight are Ashleaf, Blackpool, Clondalkin, Clonmel, Cornelscourt, Kilkenny, Killarney, Letterkenny, Nenagh, Newbridge, Northside, Parkway, Portlaoise, Tallaght, Thurles and Wexford (Red Square).

Most Dunnes Stores will close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed on December 25th and 26th. Most will be open on December 27th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some Tesco stores have also been opening through the night. This is the fourth year Tesco has offered 24-hour trading and it has been growing in popularity every year, according to Mr Brian Farrell, manager of Tesco in Artane, Dublin.

Most of Tesco's 75 stores are open until 8 p.m. today. Stores will be closed on December 25th and 26th and most will reopen on December 27th.

Superquinn branches close at 9 p.m. tonight and at 4 p.m. tomorrow. Branches reopen on Thursday, December 28th, from 8.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

More than 1,000 Christmas dinners are being delivered by the online shopping company, Buy4Now.

Orders placed this morning will be delivered today. Consumers can shop "a la carte" or opt for a fixed menu.

The last flight into Dublin Airport on Christmas Eve is due to arrive at 11.30 p.m. It will decant tanned tourists returning from Fuerteventura in the Canaries. There are 34 outbound and inbound charter flights on Christmas Eve.

The last departure leaves Dublin Airport for Shannon at 10.15 p.m. Dublin Airport is closed on Christmas Day and flights resume on St Stephen's Day, with the first departure at 6.30 a.m. and the first arrival at 8 a.m.

Cork and Shannon airports close late on Christmas Eve and reopen early on St Stephen's Day.

If you're using public transport, you won't be alone. Bus Eireann expects to carry up to 200,000 passengers on Expressway and provincial services during the Christmas and New Year period.

Normal weekday service operates today. On Christmas Eve, normal Sunday services will operate, apart from a number of cancellations.

Services on city, suburban and commuter bus routes will terminate earlier than normal. There will be no services on Christmas Day. A limited service will be provided on St Stephen's Day.

Iarnrod Eireann expects to carry up to 400,000 people on Intercity rail services over the Christmas and New Year period.

Normal Sunday DART and Drogheda suburban services will operate on Christmas Eve until 9 p.m.

The last DART trains will depart from Howth at 9.01 p.m. and from Bray at 9.08 p.m., both of which will terminate in Connolly station. On Wednesday and Thursday, December 27th and 28th, DART and other suburban services will operate at Saturday levels with minor alterations.
