GAA round-up:Having already accounted for Kerry and Mayo on their travels, Pat Gilroy's Dublin came unstuck in Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday night as they were dispatched 2-13 to 2-6 by Cork.

The Rebels, with first half goals from Daniel Goulding and Paul Kerrigan, were never likely to be caught as Dublin managed just two scores after the interval, even if one of those scores was a Bernard Brogan goal.

In the National Hurling League, Galway held firm in the face of a spirited comeback from Offaly to run out 1-22 to 1-18 winners and move level with Cork at the top of the Division One standings.

An early goal from Aidan Harte, followed by an impressive run of scoring with Ger Farragher and Eanna Ryan to the fore, helped establish an imposing 1-13 to 0-8 point lead for John McIntyre’s side at the break.

Offaly set about whittling that lead away after the interval with a goal from Shane Dooley suggesting an unlikely result might be on the cards. But the visitors to Pearse Stadium never got too close enough to the Tribesman to cause panic and Galway were relatively comfortable at the finish.
