London - A British consumer organisation yesterday challenged a government commissioned report which claims that hands-free mobile phone attachments substantially reduce exposure to radiation, writes Rachel Donnelly.

The Consumers' Association magazine Which? defended its own research published earlier this year, which suggested hands-free kits could increase the levels of radiation reaching the brain. Its research concluded that the earpiece wire on the kits acted as an "aerial" and could channel high levels of radiation to the head.
