Gardaí investigating the disappearance of a young man in Co Wicklow say there is no evidence to suggest he may have come to harm.

Stephen O’Meara (26) has been missing from his home at Rosehill, Wicklow, for over a week. The father of three was last seen in the town at about 6pm last Thursday.

After searches of a number of areas across Co Wicklow yielded no trace of the missing man, it was suggested that he may have been attacked or abducted.

However, Garda Supt Pat Ward said there was no evidence Mr O’Meara had come to harm. “Any scenario can happen at this stage,” he said. “He may turn up alive and well but there is some concern . . . As time goes by we are getting anxious.”
