Former England international Dennis Wise has received death threats connected to the player's controversial spell at Leicester City, it was reported in a British newspaper today.
Wise was sacked by City after an incident with team-mate Callum Davidson left the Scot with a broken jaw.
Now he is suing Leicester, who are battling with crippling debts and in the hands of administrators, for more than £2million worth of unpaid wages.
The death threats were allegedly postmarked from Leicester and were sent to Wise's current club, Millwall, in south London, the Sun reported.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We are investigating three items of malicious correspondence sent to a man at his place of employment in the borough of Lewisham". Millwall have a home match, at the New Den, against Leicester City, on November 16th; the reverse fixture is on December 14th.
