Mr Keith Rogers (24) died and two others where injured in a shooting in the border village of Cullaville, in Co Armagh yesterday.

A cross-border murder inquiry has been launched after the three were ambushed by a gang at a junction near Malachy Conlon Park. The incident is thought to have involved up to 10 men.

PSNI assistant chief constable Stephen White yesterday said he would not rule paramilitary involvement or family feuding as a motive for the attack.

And RTE is this evening reporting the deceased, from Hackballscross, Co Louth, was a member of the IRA.

Post mortem results issued today show Mr Rogers died from a shotgun wound to the chest.

Two other men injured in the attack are being questioned by the PSNI this evening.
