AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman charged in connection with the death of her brother, who was stabbed at a house party, has been remanded on continuing bail.

Caroline Brennan, Love Lane, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, is charged with assault causing serious harm to her brother, Michael Brennan (22).

Mr Brennan died during a party at his uncle’s house at Barrack Street, Castlecomer, shortly after 3.30am on January 30th. He was discovered with a knife wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

Ms Brennan appeared before Castlecomer District Court yesterday. Her solicitor, Michael Lanigan, made an application for his client to be allowed to change her address as part of her bail conditions. He asked that she be allowed to sign on three days a week at Cabra Garda station in Dublin and that her address be changed to Navan Road, Cabra.

Insp Liam Connolly, Kilkenny, said there was no objection to a change of address and asked that Ms Brennan be remanded on continuing bail to the next sitting of the court. He made an application to Judge William Harnett to extend time for service of the book of evidence in the case.
