A 21-year-old woman is in custody following a shooting incident in North Dublin in which two people were injured.

A 21-year-old woman is in custody following a shooting incident in North Dublin in which two people were injured.

The shooting occurred at around 2.20 a.m. this morning at Woodbine Road, Raheny.

Gardai says the two men, both in their mid 30's, were shot following an altercation with the occupants of a car.

The car and occupants drove away after the incident but returned a short time later and a single gunshot was discharged hitting both men.

One man received a gunshot wound to the leg while the other man received pellet injuries to the face. This man also sustained a fracture to his right arm as he was struck by the car as it fled the scene.

The car was abandoned a short distance away and the occupants fled to a nearby park.

The car and the scene are being preserved for technical examination and a woman was later arrested in follow up inquiries in the Priorswood area of Coolock.

She is being detained at Malahide Garda Station under Sect 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 where she can be held for up to 72 hours.
