A 32-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with the murder of another woman at an apartment in west Dublin sometime on Christmas Day.

Greta Dudko, originally from Lithuania but currently residing at Station Court Hall in Clonsilla, appeared before Dublin District Court yesterday, charged with murdering a 56-year-old woman Ana Butautiene at the same address three days ago.

At a brief court appearance, Ms Dudko, who has been living in Ireland for a number of years, remained silent after being charged with murder.

After hearing evidence of the arrest, charge and caution, Judge John Coughlan granted Ms Dudko free legal aid.

He remanded her in custody to appear again in court on December 31st.

The results of a postmortem on Ms Butautiene’s body were yesterday released to detectives involved in the case but were not made public for “operational reasons”.

The deceased woman is believed to have been living in this country for a number of years.

However it is thought that she only moved to the apartment complex in Clonsilla in recent weeks.

Officers from Blanchardstown Garda station were called to the ground-floor apartment at Station Court Hall at about 9.20pm on Christmas Day.

After being questioned by gardaí at Blanchardstown Garda station for a period of up to 24 hours under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, Ms Dudko was charged on Sunday night with the woman’s murder in the apartment.

The ground-floor apartment in which both of the women were living is located in between the Clonsilla Road and the local train station.
