A woman has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.Tanya Mulryan (30), Foynes Court, Longford, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to having child pornography images printed on an A4 page at her home on February 6th and February 7th, 2006.
She had initially pleaded not guilty but she changed her plea to guilty immediately before her trial was due to begin.
The trial was set to start on Monday but was adjourned after Mulryan asked to see her medical records.
The court heard she was suffering psychological difficulties and was considering firing her legal team. After she changed her plea, Paul Burns SC, defending, asked for sentencing to be put back until February.
He said he would be seeking a number of psychological reports for his client.
Judge Mary Ellen Ring told Mulryan she should co-operate with any reports. She said that the more information the court had in February, the more choices it could make in regard to sentencing.
She ordered that Mulryan be registered as a sex offender and remanded her on bail.
The trial had previously been moved from Longford to Dublin due to publicity.
