The mother of a man who died after he fell into a coma after a party in her home has denied she allowed drugs to be sold or handed out on the premises.
Betty Grey (48), of Ballybeg Square in Waterford city, has pleaded not guilty to permitting the sale, supply or distribution of cocaine during a party at her home on November 25th 2007.
John Grey (23) died in hospital 16 days after he fell into a coma in the early hours of November 25th.
Another man, Kevin Doyle (21) also died in hospital following a party at Ms Grey's house.
A second woman Claire Cassidy (24) has also denied permitting the sale, supply or distribution of amphetamine at her house at Ardmore Park, Ballybeg, Waterford on the same date.
A jury of six men and six women has been sworn in to hear the trials of both women which get underway at Carlow Circuit Court today.
