A 26-year-old woman has appeared in court in Belfast charged with the murder of a man believed to be her boyfriend.

William James Shaw (33) was found in a burning house on Belfast’s Camden Street earlier this month. A post-mortem confirmed that he had suffered severe head injuries before the fire started.

Neighbours raised the alarm when they saw smoke coming from the first floor of the house in the university area of the city.

Firefighters forced entry to the partially boarded up house and the fire was confined to the first floor and landing.
