A woman was killed this afternoon when the car she was driving went out of control and struck the front steps of a house.
The incident happened shortly after 2:30pm at Dalysfort Road, Salthill, Co Galway.
Gardaí at Salthill said the deceased was a local woman in her late 70's and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
