A woman has died in a crash on the M1 motorway outside Belfast.
The woman was driving a car that left the road and crashed down an embankment near Stockman's Lane at 2.40 a.m. The dead woman has not been named.
The citybound side of the road has been closed between Lisburn and Broadway. One lane of the countrybound carriageway has also been shut.
Elsewhere, in Co Antrim yesterday evening a nine-year-old boy died while crossing the road near his house.
The boy, who has not yet been named, died after being struck by a car on the Moneynick Road, Randalstown.
A woman in her forties died in a car crash in Co Donegal last night. The two-car collision happened at Ballyconnell, Falcarragh, at 7.45 p.m. The victim was named as Ms Rose Cannon, from Carrowcannon, Falcarragh. Gardai are investigating.
