A woman has lost a £30,000 damages claim for dog-bite injuries against a Dublin veterinary clinic.
Judge Liam Devally said in the Circuit Civil Court that the Charlemont Street Animal Welfare Clinic, Dublin, had allowed Ms Deirdre Crowe (24), of Fingal Street, Dublin, to help staff one evening a week at the clinic because of her love of animals.
When a stray collie bit her right wrist she claimed she had never been warned of the potential danger of handling adult dogs.
Judge Devally said he was satisfied she had been warned not to touch the animals and to handle only puppies and kittens.
