A woman is to appear in Tallaght District Court tomorrow, where she is expected to be charged with assault causing harm following the death of a man in South Dublin overnight.
Gardaí were called to the scene at Coolamber Park, Knocklyon, early this morning where Mr Declan O'Neill's body was found. It is understood Mr O'Neill (46) died violently, and gardaí have taken a number of items to examine.
The woman in her late 40s was arrested in Wicklow at 5 a.m. and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Rathfarnham Garda station.
Gardaí refused to confirm reports the woman arrested was the man's partner, or that the victim had been attacked with a hammer.
A hammer and a knife were understood to have been recovered from the scene.
The man's body was taken to Tallaght Hospital where the State Pathologist Dr John Harbison was due to carry out a post mortem this afternoon. A Garda spokesman said the results of the examination have not yet been released.
