A mother (21) of two found guilty in March of killing another woman has been given a 10-year sentence for manslaughter.
Kelly Noble stabbed Emma McLoughlin (19) to death outside a shop in the seaside town of Laytown, Co Meath, last year.
Noble killed Ms McLoughlin after the pair had an argument outside the shop moments earlier. Ms McLoughlin had "busted" Noble's nose, the defendant claimed.
Noble phoned for her childminder to bring a knife and when she returned minutes later, she approached Ms McLoughlin and fatally stabbed her.
Noble had denied the murder of Ms McLoughlin on June 2nd last year but was convicted by a unanimous verdict of her manslaughter at the Central Criminal Court.
Mr Justice Barry White had adjourned sentencing to consider an appropriate tariff.
Today he said he took into account that Noble was a mother who had an appalling upbringing, and had a clean record. He suspended the last two years of Noble's sentence, noting that she displayed remorse.
