A thief struck as a woman suffered an epileptic seizure in the centre of Antrim town.

Police yesterday revealed details of the incident which happened at around midday on Thursday as the woman was sitting on a bench near the Royal British Legion premises at Antrim's Lough Road.

A PSNI spokesman said: "She had an epileptic event. When she came to her purple, patchwork handbag containing a bank card, an amount of cash and her mobile phone was missing." He said anyone who may have witnessed the incident should contact Antrim police on 90650222.
