Gardai seized 2.5kg of heroin with a street value of £400,000 yesterday in a mid-afternoon interception of a car on the M50 motorway.
The driver, a woman in her 20s, was detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
In a separate operation last night, members of the Garda National Drugs Unit recovered ecstasy with an estimated street value of £450,000 from a car in the Clondalkin area of Dublin. A 28-year-old man from Ronanstown, Dublin, was last night being held for questioning in connection with the seizure in Ronanstown Garda station.
