A WOMAN who has brought four previous claims for accidental injuries, and has received more than £20,000 in compensation, was awarded £11,000 in the Cork Circuit Court yesterday for a broken elbow injury sustained in 1993.

Mrs Stephanie Horgan, of Commons Road, Cork, sued Cork corporation and Bord Gais Eireann for the injuries she received when she tripped over a loose defective flagstone.

Mr Sean Lynch, barrister, said they were openly admitting all previous claims brought by his client. This was her fifth claim and she had another one pending.

Mrs Horgan's misfortunes began in 1984 when she slipped on clothes which had fallen on the floor in Dunnes Stores during a sale and received a knee injury. She settled for £5,000.
