Woman is charged in relation to boy's death

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of Thomas McDonald (16) who died when he was struck by a car on Tuesday

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of Thomas McDonald (16) who died when he was struck by a car on Tuesday. Two men have been charged with perverting the course of justice. All three are to appear in Belfast Magistrates' court today.

Thomas sustained head injuries when he was struck by a car near a sectarian interface on the Whitewell Road on Tuesday morning. He later died in hospital.

Detectives yesterday returned to the scene to question motorists and residents.

A woman who was reported to have given first-aid at the scene has been urged to contact police.

The boy's funeral is to be held tomorrow. He will be buried in Roselawn cemetery.
