A WOMAN of Nigerian descent who claims her father was hanged along with the writer and civil rights activist, Ken Saro Wiwa, has been jailed for 4 1/2 years for importing £150,000 worth of cocaine into Ireland.

Yetunde Adedipe (32) told gardai a woman offered to bring her mother, her sick uncle and her two brothers from Nigeria to England, along with £2,000 in cash if she did the drugs run. She was to bring the cocaine from Amsterdam to London, via Dublin Airport.

She claimed the woman had befriended her at a party in Brixton, London. When she told her she had no money, the woman gave her £200 and bought her clothes in Oxford Street.

The court heard Adedipe was born in London of Nigerian parents. She moved back to Nigeria at an early age, her statement saying her father had been a commissioner for labour.
