A London woman (37) who used the date-rape drug Rohypnol to stupefy and rob men she had met in nightclubs was jailed for five years today.

Selina Razack-Hakki, the first woman in Britain to be convicted for lacing men's drinks with the drug, was tracked down by samples of her DNA left on cigarette ends at the home of one of her victims.

He had passed out and woken to discover his watch missing along with other valuables after meeting Razack-Hakki at a London nightclub and inviting her back to his flat.

Police found a glass of red wine containing traces of Rohypnol along with the cigarette stubs at his apartment.

The victim's blood and urine also both showed traces of the drug.

Another victim lost a watch and designer clothing following a similar nightclub encounter with Razack-Hakki, inviting her back home and passing out after drinking wine with her.

Razack-Hakki was convicted at Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court of drugging both men in order to steal from them.

Rohypnol is one of three main types of drug commonly used in drug-rape and abuse cases in Britain. In 2003, nearly 1,000 such cases were reported but experts said at the time, the true figure was much higher. Up to 15 per cent of victims in Britain are men.
