A woman has been killed and her two young children injured in a car crash in Co Tipperary.

A woman has been killed and her two young children injured in a car crash in Co Tipperary.

Gardaí in Clonmel are investigating the collision at Loughtally, Clonmel, at midday.

The 25-year-old woman was fatally injured when the car she was driving crashed.  Her two children, boys aged two and four, were in the car at the time and were injured.  They were taken to South Tipperary General hospital and their injuries are not thought to be life threatening, a Garda statement said.

There was no other vehicle involved in the crash.

Earlier this morning, a 23-year-old man was killed in a crash in Co Offaly.

The car he was driving crashed with a van at Derryclure, near Tullamore at about 4.00am.

Another man, who was a passenger in the car, was seriously injured. He has been and was taken to Tullamore General Hospital.

The driver of the van was also taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Meanwhile, three people were injured in a crash between two cars at Garrymore in Co Laois this morning. All three were taken to hospital.
