A woman charged with assaulting a man who was found dead in an apartment on Monday night is to receive medical treatment in prison for “certain problems” she has, a court has heard.
Michelle Hynes (39) of no fixed abode was brought before Waterford district court this morning having been charged with assaulting Joe O'Brien (60), causing him harm.
Mr O'Brien's body was found by emergency services in an apartment at Scotch Marsh House in Waterford city on Monday night.

Mr Chesser also asked that his client be given medical treatment in custody. "She has certain problems," he said. The judge directed that appropriate treatment be made available.
Ms Hynes was one of two people arrested close to the scene where Joe O'Brien's body was found in an apartment block off William Street in Waterford at about 9.50pm on Monday.
