A woman has been remanded in custody charged with murdering her husband at a house in Tallaght last week.

A woman has been remanded in custody charged with murdering her husband at a house in Tallaght last week.

Tanya Doyle (36), of Pairc Gleann Trasna, Aylesbury, Tallaght was brought before Dublin District Court this morning where she was charged with murdering Paul Byrne (48).

Mr Byrne was pronounced dead following a fatal stabbing at the house last Friday night.

Garda John O'Connell told Judge Ann Ryan that he arrested the defendant at 8.45pm on Friday. He said she was conveyed to Tallaght Garda station where she was detained.

Garda O'Connell said Ms Doyle was released from detention at 12.45am on Sunday and charged 45 minutes later.
She made no reply when charged.

Judge Ryan remanded her in custody to appear again at Dublin District Court on September 14th. She also consented to application by solicitor Kevin Tunney to grant legal aid to Ms Doyle.
