Gardaí and British police will exhume the body of a 47-year-old woman from a cemetery in Athlone, Co Westmeath, tomorrow to enable a post-mortem examination to be performed.

An inquest into the woman's death was previously opened in Birmingham and adjourned for further investigations to take place. The cause of death has not yet been established, according to the police spokesperson.

It is believed that the West Midlands police have now moved to reassess the case after a man linked with the Athlone woman was subsequently charged with other crimes.
