Woman sexually assaulted in NI park

A woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault as she walked through a Belfast park in broad daylight yesterday.

A woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault as she walked through a Belfast park in broad daylight yesterday.

Her attacker, believed to be a male as young as 16 years old, targeted her in Colin Glen Forest Park at around 3pm.

The woman, who was aged in her mid-to-late 20s, was walking in the park when she was approached by the young male.

A PSNI spokesman said the male, after speaking to her, walked with the woman for a short distance before dragging her in to bushes and sexually assaulting her.

“A number of people walked past the woman and her attacker before the incident and police want to hear from them urgently,” he said.

“Anyone who was in Colin Glen Forest Park at the time or has information is asked to contact detectives at the rape crime unit at Ladas Drive.”

The male is described as being around 16 years of age, around five-foot six-inches to five-foot eight-inches in height, thin in appearance and with dark ginger brown curly hair.
