A woman convicted of burglary at the home of two elderly pensioners in the midlands is wanted by the Garda in connection with these and other robberies in the west. Gardai believe she may be able to help them, with their inquiries into attacks on the elderly in the east Galway and elsewhere. A warrant for her arrest was issued last December.

Mary Connors (34), of Belgard Road, Tallaght, was convicted, along with three other persons from the travelling community, of two burglaries in Westmeath and Longford in Trim Circuit Court last Friday. Ms Connors did not appear in court. Gardai believe she may have gone to England. She was on bail further to an appeal against a two year jail sentence in Navan District Court for burglary last October.
