A woman in her 40s was tied up and threatened during a raid on her home in Co Louth by three masked men last night.

A woman in her 40s was tied up and threatened during a raid on her home in Co Louth by three masked men last night.

The incident happened at a house on Commons Road, Dromiskin shortly after 9.00pm.

The raiders entered the house and tied up the woman before escaping with a small amount of cash and electronic items. The men wore dark clothing and had their faces covered.

The woman, who was the sole occupant of the house, managed to free herself and raise the alarm a short time later.

She was taken to hospital in Drogheda suffering from minor injuries but subsequently released.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9.30pm last night and may have noticed anything unusual to contact them.
