At the Partnership talks in Government Buildings on Monday, the issue of equality was reached. At once all the men representing the Congress of Trade Unions got up and left for other engagements. Four women, including Inez McCormack and Roisin Callander, stayed to argue the union case. There are no women on the Government team, but some on the employers' and community teams. Equality now is seen as covering many areas, but for the unions it is still about and of interest only, to women.
