Equalising socio-economic opportunity for women:
This includes reducing the gender pay gap, advancing women in the labour market and supporting more women as entrepreneurs.

It also involves better childcare services, a reduction in the number of women experiencing poverty and increased pension cover.

Ensuring the wellbeing of women:
To improve the physical and mental health status of women; the promotion of healthy lifestyles and increasing the number of women participating in sport and physical activity; and the protection of the health and safety of pregnant and breast-feeding women at work.

Engaging as equal and active citizens:
Increasing the number of women in decision-making positions in politics and the numbers involved in the arts; using the media proactively to support gender equality and the advancement of women; and using multi-lateral aid and development policy to promote the role of women and gender equality in developing countries.
