Work resumed last night in the two Waterford Crystal factories which had been hit by unofficial strike action yesterday morning. The dispute began when a sacked furnace worker placed a picket on the Kilbarry plant. The company say he was dismissed for two serious incidents of misconduct.
About 1,000 employees from both the Kilbarry and Butlerstown factories in Waterford were involved in the dispute. After talks between the workers, their union, the ATGWU, and the management the picket was lifted and work resumed.
