A worker at a cash delivery company and his wife were released uninjured yesterday after being held overnight in a Co Down raid.

No money was handed over during the incident, which began when armed and masked men entered the couple’s home at Crossgar, Co Down between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday.

The man was taken away in his own car while the woman was held separately overnight.

In the morning, the man was instructed to bring money from his workplace to a Belfast location, but a member of the gang he met there drove away before any money was handed over.
