A former ESB worker died from a lung tumour normally caused by asbestos, a Cork inquest decided yesterday.
The inquest had been adjourned last week by Cork City Coroner Cornelius Riordan, in order to ensure that the Health and Safety Authority was notified of the hearing.
The authority was represented yesterday by a solicitor but did not present evidence.
Anthony Carlile (62), of Radwell, Whitegate, Co Cork, died on September 4th last from a tumour which pathologist Dr Catherine Keohane said was associated with asbestos exposure.

Mr Carlile was employed by the ESB as a fitter and then as a supervisor from 1956, the inquest heard.
The coroner found in accordance with the medical evidence.
