Irish in Australia: Share your views on the problems facing the new government

How is the housing crisis affecting you and what should Albanese do about climate change?

Anthony Albanese was sworn in as Australia's new prime minister on Monday following the Labor Party's success in Saturday's general election. He replaces Scott Morrison after nine years of conservative government.

The country is dealing with a housing affordability crisis and there has been a push for greater climate action which led to unprecedented support for the Greens and climate-focused independents. Labor has promised to introduce a major housing equity scheme that would allow the government to provide a contribution of up to 40 per cent of the purchase price of a new home.

We are interested in hearing from Irish people living in Australia about the problems facing the new government. Have you been affected by the housing crisis there? Do you think the election outcome and Labor's plans will make a significant difference? Is there anything Ireland could learn from Australia on the subject. How should the Australian government act to address climate change?
