Entertainer arrested in Maine posts $10,000 bail at Knox County Jail

American Pie singer Don McLean has been arrested in Maine on a domestic violence charge.

Jail supervisor Corporal Brad Woll said Mr McLean was arrested and posted $10,000 (€9,180) bail at Knox County Jail early on Monday.

The 70-year-old singer-songwriter lives in Camden, Maine.

His original manuscript and notes to American Pie sold at auction for $1.2 million dollars last April.
