Police in the US believe they have found the body of missing actress Misty Upham, known for her roles in August: Osage County and Django Unchained.
A woman's body was found in a ravine near the White River in Washington state, Auburn police spokesman Steve Stocker said. Items with Ms Upham's name on them were found nearby.
Officials were waiting for the medical examiner to make a positive identification and determine the cause of death, Mr Stocker said.
Auburn police were alerted that a body had been found in a wooded area at the bottom of a 150-foot (46-metre) embankment near the White River in Auburn, south of Seattle.
A purse with Ms Upham’s identification was at the scene, but a medical examiner had not made a positive identification or a determination of cause of death, Mr Stocker said.
A family member was in the area searching for her and discovered the body and called the police.
Nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her supporting role in the 2008 crime drama, “Frozen River,” Ms Upham also featured in Django Unchained and August: Osage County.
The 32-year-old Native American actress was reported missing by her family on October 6th.
Her father, Charles Upham, told local media his daughter was upset and erratic and had stopped taking medication for anxiety and bipolar disorder.
The family said Ms Upham had moved to the Seattle area to help care for her father, who is recovering from a stroke. She had been staying on the Muckleshoot reservation.
