Hunt for $590m lottery winner sends US town into convulsions

A small Florida town is excitedly waiting to find out which of its citizens has won an enormous €460 million lottery prize.

The winning Powerball ticket, worth $590.5 million, was bought late last week at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, population 13,000, which lies about 30 miles from Tampa.

The winner has still to come forward.

The town is said to be abuzz with excitment as it waits for the winner to come forward.

The winner have 60 days to claim the lump sum amount from the lottery’s Tallahassee office.

Lottery officials say the winner will probably take the time to craft a plan with lawyers or accountants before claiming the prize.
