Wrangler taps into a hunger for life in the wild

Old styling in new fabrics brings Wranglers up to date

Old styling in new fabrics brings Wranglers up to date. Denim may be out of the picture but no one is ever going to give up on jeans. Now they come in cord, melange and twill.

At the launch of its autumn collections, Wrangler showed it was going all out to capture an innate longing for the great outdoors. It's about tough, rugged clothing that will be worn even if there is no great wilderness to hand. The range is divided into Wrangler Authentics and Wrangler Trail.

Soft earthy colours and a mock military style make Wrangler Trail a hard-working, highly practical range with a line in hooded fleece and fully lined padded jackets that, with the many good details, make great sense and yet have plenty of dash. There is some variation between men's and women's styles, of course, but the mood is the same.

Get into the wilderness, even if it is by way of a long dalliance in town. There are zips and kangaroo pockets and toggle fastenings, mobile phone pockets and hoops for key rings. Great practical touches. Sweatshirts are in heavy materials, and can replace the jackets and, while women may squeeze into tight striped sweaters, there are also loose knitted tunics.
