KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian teenagers found smoking or even possessing cigarettes and tobacco could be fined $400 as part of a new drive by the Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, against moral decay and "dumb" influences from Western society.
The ban on anyone under the age of 19 smoking or chewing tobacco will take effect from next month, the Health Minister, Mr Chua Jui Meng, announced yesterday.
