The death has been announced of Paul Furey, youngest brother of Dublin folk band, The Furey Brothers.
Mr Furey, who was 54, died last night in Beaumont Hospital after a short illness.
The accordion player enjoyed national and international success with his brothers who scored a Top 20 British hit with When You Were Sweet Sixteenwith Davy Arthur in 1981.
The song spent 11 weeks in the British charts reaching number 14 and was a number one hit in Ireland.
The Fureys were formed in 1974 by brothers Finbar and Eddie along with younger brothers Paul and George.
Other well known recordings include The Green Fields Of France, Red Rose Café, Now Is The Hour, Clare To Here, Steal Awayand Her Father Didn't Like Me Anyway.
