A teenager has been charged with attempting to rob a bank with a hatchet.
Joseph Myers (19) was accused yesterday at Ballyshannon District Court with attempting to rob the Bank of Ireland in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, on July 22nd last. He was also accused of intimidation with a hatchet capable of inflicting serious injury.
Garda John Clancy told of serving of the book of evidence on Mr Myers, who had addresses in Ballinasloe and at Tuam Road, Galway.
Judge Kevin Kilrane told Mr Myers he had 24 days to give notice of an alibi in his defence.

He was remanded in custody to appeal at Donegal Town Circuit Court on Tuesday.
