Two youths have been cut from the wreckage of their vehicle after a three car pile-up on the outskirts of north Belfast, it emerged today.
A number of people were treated in hospital after the crash, which happened on the Ballyhenry Road last night.
Four young men were travelling in one of the cars, and Fire Service spokesman Tim Enthwhistle said their vehicle was in danger of catching fire when the emergency services arrived.
He added that firefighters had to use heavy cutting equipment to rescue two of the youths who were trapped inside the car.
"One of the individuals was quite severely trapped in the vehicle. He was basically pushed under the dashboard and had suffered head injuries and other multiple injuries.
"We had to remove the roof completely from the vehicle, plus take one side out of the vehicle."
