Harare - The Zimbabwe opposition leader, Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, will be charged with terrorism and could face life in prison when he appears before the country's High Court on May 7th, his lawyer said yesterday.
Mr Innocent Chagonda said that Mr Tsvangirai, expected to stand against President Robert Mugabe for president next year, was being charged under the Law and
Order Maintenance Act, which covers acts of terrorism. The charge arises from remarks Mr Tsvangirai made to a rally of his MDC last year, urging Mr Mugabe to resign.
