Dublin Zoo today introduced to the public its newest attraction: a 3-week-old, 7-feet tall baby giraffe.
The calf was born to proud parents Jenny and Robin on May 31 stand is said to be thriving.
Leo Oosterweghel, director of Dublin Zoo said: "We are absolutely delighted with the arrival of the calf. He is a very welcome addition to our giraffe herd and brings the number of giraffe in Dublin Zoo to five.
"I am delighted to say that he has made exceptional progress since his birth earlier this month".
The giraffe which had not yet been named, was nearly 6 feet tall when he was born and is now measuring close to 7 feet.
When he reaches maturity, he can measure up to 18 feet and weigh well in excess of a tonne.
The calf will live with the other four members of the zoo's giraffe herd in the African Plains section.
