Sir, - While attending the Gate Theatre's excellent production on Harold Pinter's The Homecoming (June 22nd), I was somewhat bemused to find in the programme a full-page advertisement by Bank of Ireland proudly promising "100 steps to better banking by the year 2000". This anachronical promise prompts at least three questions:
1. Has the entire B of I marketing department been asleep since the new year?
2. How many of the promised 100 steps were in fact implemented by the end of last year?
3 As a loyal B of I customer, should I be reassured that the bank is at least out of the 19th century? - Yours, etc.,
