Frankfurt DAX: 2,891 (+33.76)
The Frankfurt stock market rolled up strong gains yesterday, encouraged by the dollar's firmness and a good performance on Wall Street's on Monday.
The bond market rose firmly, and the average yield on government issues fell by 0.04 of a point to 5.15 per cent.
Paris CAC 40: 2,251.40 (-4.44)
The Paris Bourse suffered a modest loss falling 0.20 per cent on the day.
The fall came because of a strong bond market, but financial circles were becoming more nervous ahead of the European Union summit meeting in Dublin on Friday and Saturday this week, traders said.
Trading was quiet with volume of 4.2 billion francs on the monthly settlement market.
Milan Mibtel: 10,345 (-29)
The Italian market suffered a setback yesterday with a paucity of buyers wiping out gains made earlier in the session. Traders said weaker bond futures weighed on sentiment.
