An article in last Saturdays Weekend Review entitled How the ECB became a central player stated incorrectly that European Central Bank executive board member Jurgen Stark succeeded Axel Weber as chief of Germanys Bundesbank. In fact, Mr Stark resigned from the ECB in the months after Mr Weber left the Bundesbank. The error occurred in the editing process.

An article in last Tuesday’s edition, concerning the decision by Rev Ian Paisley to discontinue preaching, said that he had originally been a member of the Presbyterian Church. In fact he had been a member of the Baptist Church before he founded his own church.

In a profile of President Higgins in Saturday’s newspaper, a preposition “of” was inadvertently omitted from a quote of his in the Dáil on January 25th, 2011. He spoke of the need to establish “a floor of citizenship below which people would not be allowed to fall”.
